122 Alta Street
This historic San Francisco neighborhood is filled with wonderful people, buildings and history. Some of the best restaurants in the city are in walking distance, as is the Ferry Building for farmers market errands. The house is due south of Coit Tower so walking is easy to even better views than are available from the house itself. Because this area was settled so early in San Francisco's history and there is a respect among the residents for that history, you can get the sense of being in a part of the city which was influential and formative (and still is) in making San Francisco an international attraction.
Downtown views. Southern exposure gives great light year-round. Five-minute walk to North Beach. Great space for entertaining. Radiant heating on two floors is so comfortable and efficient. Parrots of Telegraph Hill hang out in our back garden.
